FAQ’s

Q1: What is soft washing?
A: Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that uses specially formulated cleaning solutions to safely remove mold, mildew, algae, and dirt from exterior surfaces without damaging them.

Q2: How is soft washing different from power washing?
A: Power washing uses high pressure, which can damage surfaces like siding, roofing, and wood. Soft washing relies on biodegradable cleaning agents and low pressure to gently clean and sanitize surfaces.

Q3: Is soft washing safe for my home?
A: Yes. Soft washing is safe for roofs, siding, stucco, decks, fences, and more. It’s the recommended method by roofing manufacturers and won’t cause water damage or surface erosion.

Q4: How long do the results last?
A: Typically 1–3 years, depending on surface type and environmental conditions. Soft washing kills the root of algae and mold, so it lasts much longer than pressure washing.

Q5: What surfaces can be soft washed?
A:

  • Roofs (asphalt, tile, metal)

  • Vinyl and wood siding

  • Stucco

  • Brick

  • Decks and fences

  • Gutters

  • Concrete (with some variation in process)

Q6: Are the chemicals safe for plants and pets?
A: Yes. We use eco-friendly, biodegradable solutions and take extra care to protect landscaping by wetting down plants before, during, and after treatment. Pets should be kept inside during the wash.

Q7: Will soft washing void my roof warranty?
A: No—quite the opposite. Soft washing is the only method recommended by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA). High-pressure washing can void warranties.

Q8: How often should I get my home soft washed?
A: Every 1–2 years is ideal to prevent buildup and protect your investment. Roofs may only need it every 3–5 years depending on location and shade.

Q9: How long does a typical job take?
A: Most residential homes can be completed in 2–4 hours. Larger homes or multi-surface projects may take longer.

Q10: Is soft washing just cosmetic or does it add value?
A: It’s more than cosmetic—removing algae and mildew helps extend the life of your exterior surfaces and improves curb appeal, which can increase property value.
